Abia Traders will give Gov. Ikpeazu maximum support to succeed – ASMATA President

As the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu the Abia State governor begins his second tenure administration, Abia residence have continued to voice out their expectations especially now they believe that the governor has more support  from the people to complete his eight years term.

The emergence of Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, PhD in 2015 and his re-election in 2019 to complete his second term like his predecessors were seen by many as a product of equity to the three senatorial zones of the state. To that effect, he is said to have drawn more support than his opposition.


Though in his first tenure, his first two years in office witnessed several court cases which many described as a setback, adding that is a reasonable timeframe for any government to stand on his fit, but praised him for his achievements in his first term despite all those hindrances.

According to Chief Emeka Emechebe, the president Abia State Amalgamated Traders Association, the first term of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu witnessed reasonable achievements despite that his first two years were besieged by court cases. He was very optimistic that this second tenure of governor Ikpeazu would be very much better and urged Abians to give him the necessary support to succeed.

He said the traders on their part would contribute their quota to ensure the success of governor Ikpeazu’s administration by paying their levy to the government.

The ASMATA president Emechebe who led the June 14, 2018 one million match in support of Govrnor Okezie Ikpeazu want the governor to reposition the markets in Abia State.
