Umuahia: Ikechukwu Apugo commissions water project in Ofem Community

The people of Ihite-Ude Ofeme in Ohuhu Umuahia North L.G.A recently received the All Progressive Congress APC Ikwuano/Umuahi Federal House of Representative candidate for the forthcoming general election, Hon. Martin Ikechukwu Apugo on the occasion of their ‘Hall of Fame’ Awards giving and commissioning of water project built by the Ihite-Ude Ofeme Welfare Union (Federated). 

Ihite-Ude Ofeme in Ohuhu Umuahia North, over 30 years experienced non existence of pipe born Water Borehole which the village suffered to have access to pipe born water. But with the vision of the present leadership led by Engr. Kenneth Nwachukwu, the President General and the Executive and approved by Supreme Council of Ihite-Ude Ofeme conference, the people now have access to pipe born water which was initiated in early 2014.

In his welcome address, the President General Ihite-Ude Ofeme Welfare Union (Federated), Engr. Kenneth Nwachukwu appreciated their partners in such record breaking achievement of water project in their community and other laudable projects such as mechanized palm-oil Mill, Rebranded and latest vigilante service force for the security of lives and properties of the people, and urged the people to continue to support the current leadership and vision with the hope that the people shall continue to smile just as they now line up to fetch water from various water points in the village.

He described the APC candidate for Federal House of Representative Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, and Chairman of the Occasion, Hon. Martin Ikechukwu Apugo as their own and brother from a different mother who have shown much commitment in community development projects.

In his reaction, Hon. Martin Ikechukwu Apugo expressed his joy over such a laudable project and salutes the determination of the present leadership in seeing that such project became a reality despite the challenges.

He supported their effort with the sum of five hundred thousand naira (N500, 000), and promised to do more for the community if elected House member, Federal House of Representative, Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency.
