Umuahia: "Over 400 Ikwuano/Umuahia Residents Benefit From Rep. Onuigbo Rural Health Initiative

Over four hundred persons have benefitted from the free medical services delivered under the "Rep. Sam Onuigbo Health Initiative For Rural Dwellers", which was done  in collaboration with the NYSC Medical team.
    
Speaking at the flag-off of the free medical programme at Ndoro Civic Hall, in Ikwuano LGA, the sponsor of the programne and member representing Ikwuano/ Umuahia federal constituency Chief Sam Onuigbo noted that he sponsored the programme to bring quality healthcare service closer to his people and called on them to make good use of the opportunity.
    
Chief Onuigbo who was represented by  represented by the chairman of Umuahia South Local Government Area Mr Obioma Ezeogbulafor ,described health as a very vital aspect of human life, and appreciated the NYSC Scheme in the state for their partnership. He further promised to sustain the programme, even as he continues with the effective representation of his people.

Also speaking, the state coordinator of the NYSC Mrs Francisca Ifon  who described the healthcare initiative of the NYSC as part of their community service project aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of people in the rural areas, described the sponsor and federal House of representatives member, Chief Sam Onuigbo as a long standing supporter of the scheme particular, and corp members posted to the state, general.
    
Contributing, the chairman of Ikwuano Local Government Area, Ezinne Ngozi Orji represented by her Deputy,Mr Anthony Alaribe lauded the NYSC and Chief Sam Onuigbo for their concern for the needs of the people and the choice of Ikwuano as the venue to carry out the free medical scheme and assured of the support of the Local Government Area towards making the programme a success.
   
In separate interviews, some of the beneficiaries including Mrs Benedette Kan, Rev. David Uwanna Otuzor, Friday Uwanna, Cecilia Uwanna, Grace Kanu, Blessing Sunday and Mrs Fine Ihechimere Joshua who were full of praises for the member representing Ikwuano/ Umuahia federal constituency Chief Sam Onuigbo and the NYSC for meeting their health needs, prayed God to reward them.
    
The free medical service which attracted beneficiaries from across the Ikwuano/ Umuahia federal constituency also featured free counselling and health talk by the corp members led by the President of the Medical and Health CDs group Dr Andrew Ekhoragbon.
