IMO Governorship Race: The so called big parties Parade worst candidates says Linus Okorie
By Henry Uwalaka
The governorship standard bearer of Young Progressive Party YPP in Imo State, Dr. Linus Okorie said the so called big political parties in Imo Sate threw up their worst candidates for the 2019 governorship election, adding that here comes a time when Imo people should get ready to make a tough decision that would not be easy, but will decide whether to join the mediocre mind set or make a change for a better Imo.
In his speech during the official inauguration of his campaign council and unveiling of his running mate in Owerri recently, Linus Okorie said, “At a special time in history when the state has allowed itself to go through a process where among the top political parties, the so called big parties in the state you look at the candidates that the system has thrown up you realised that Imo State has thrown up some of their worst”.
The YPP gubernatorial flag bearer believes that YPP is filled with intellects, men that are thinkers, influencers, men with honour, integrity, selfless vision, those with school of thought that says the system must be changed for good, adding that Imo State is in a very critical time in its history and in great need of direction which according to him, the state is blessed with people that are accomplished across the globe, and is time now to come together to say enough is a enough and throw out politicians that have stolen and taken advantage of the people.
“Igbo man I know is an independent and hard working man. Igbo man has strong independent mind, but these politicians has deliberately dealt with us, striped us our honour, and made a lot of people beggars. So, instead of the people to evaluate the political actors from who they are, the quality of their mind and thinking, quality of their value, quality of what they represent, their antecedent, their programmes, they rather evaluate them on the basis of how fat is their pocket”, said Linus Okorie.
In his reaction, the running mate to Linus Okorie, Hon. Ugochukwu Aguguam said today’s leadership is far from zoning or where you are coming from, rather competent, somebody who can take the state to the next level, urging Imo people to rally round the YPP governorship candidate Dr. Linus Okorie to give Imo the best.
Those that spoke at the occasion described Linus Okorie as the right candidate for the office of Imo governor, and pledged their total support to him.
