Onuigbo Flags Off  Construction Of  Skills Acquisition Centre in Umuahia

Says God and His constituents reason for his Excel


The member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency and House Committee Chairman on Climate Change Chief Sam Onuigbo has flagged off the construction of a Skills Acquisition Centre he attracted for his constituents in Umuahia South Local Government Area.  

Speaking at the event to hand over the project site at the council headquarters at Apumiri Ubakala, to the contractor handling the project, Chief Sam Onuigbo said the project which is one of the many projects he attracted for his constituents is aimed at empowering them especially the women and youths,  in order to make them self-reliant, keep them out of crime and contribute effectively to the growth of their families and society.  

The federal lawmaker who challenged the contractor to ensure proper execution of the job and to work according to specification, called on the host and benefitting community to cooperate with the contractor for him to deliver a good job and on schedule.  

He pointed out that the project is billed to be executed within eight weeks, and  pledged to attract more projects to his people.
Rep. Onuigbo used the occasion to appreciate the federal government, and the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Hon. Useni Useni under whose ministry the job is being executed.  

In his speech, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Hon. Useni Useni represented by a Chief Architect in the department of Housing in the Ministry, Mr David Otom commended Chief Onuigbo for his determination and commitment in attracting the project pointing out that the Skills Acquisition Centre will have eight sections including those of tailoring, ICT,Hairdressing, Carpentry and Interior decoration, Catering, Foot wears design as well as barbing and beauty studios, and challenged the contractor to do a good job.  

Contributing, the Chairman Umuahia South Local Government Area, Mr Obioma Eze Ogbulafor expressed gratitude to God for giving Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency a worthy representative in Chief Sam Onuigbo and thanked him for choosing Umuahia South as the site for the project. 

Mr. Eze Ogbulafor assured the contractor of the cooperation and support of the Umuahia South Local Government Area, in order to enable him complete the project on schedule.  

In their separate speeches, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Utilities Sir Tony Ezebuiro, the Traditional Ruler of Obilugwu Ngodo Umunwanwa in Umuahia South, Eze Stephen Ihuoma who represented the Chairman Umuahia South Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Geoffrey Onwuka, Mrs Fidelia Ukejianya, Mr Austine Enyeribe who spoke on behalf of the youths of Umuahia South, and Lady Uzoma Asibe on behalf of Ikwuano/Umuahia Community Women Leaders Association, expressed joy and gratitude over the project and several others attracted to the constituency by Chief Onuigbo and pledged their support for his second term bid while assuring the contractor handling the project of their support. 

Responding, the contractor handling the project Mr. Felix Imoh thanked the people for their assurances and assured them that he will give his best and deliver the project in accordance to specifications and on time.

In another vein, Representative Sam Onuigbo has attributed his achievements so far in office to the grace of God and the prayers and support of his constituents

Chief Onuigbo who stated this shortly after receiving an award for his excellent performances and contributions to the development of society and mankind by the Special Friends Association of Nigeria at the Annual Dinner of the Association held at the Abia Hotels Umuahia, described the award as a morale booster to him.  
Onuigbo who was represented by the Education Secretary of Ikwuano Local Government Area Chief Mrs Ego Nwamuo assured his constituents of sustaining his quality representation of the area as evidenced in the various bills and motions he has initiated and projects attracted.

while thanking the Special Friends Association of Nigeria for recognising his modest contributions to society, he commended the members of the association for coming together to promote family values which is fast eroding and for contributing to the development of society, and assured them that he will partner with them.  

He further called for the support of his constituents to him, the Senator representing Abia Central, Senator T.A. Orji and for the present administration in the state under the Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu in other to ensure more dividends of democracy.
